The winners for the Belgium Cyber Security Awards 2023 are: 

1. Category: Cyber Security Personality Award: Miguel De Bruycker, Managing Director General of the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium, recognized for his staunch dedication and decades-long commitment to elevating cybersecurity awareness in Belgium. 
   
   Miguel’s exemplary leadership, coupled with exceptional organizational prowess, is evident in his substantial achievements spearheading the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium. His profound impact on both the Belgian economy and society, shielding them from cybersecurity threats, is nothing short of remarkable. Belgium’s ascent to the top position on the EU Cybersecurity index stands as a testament to Miguel and the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium’s relentless efforts, underscoring their pivotal role in fortifying the nation’s cybersecurity landscape. 
   
   
2. Category: Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Award: Siska Hallemeesch, Information Security Consultant active as a CISO as a Service – NVISO Belgium, acknowledged for her remarkable journey and profound accomplishments. 
   
   Siska’s resilience in transitioning careers after a challenging experience reflects an incredible feat, showcasing perseverance and determination. As an influential role model, she shatters stereotypes, emphasizing the substantial contributions that employees with a long service record bring to the economy. Her thoughtful pivot to the role of a CISO demonstrates strategic foresight and adaptability. 3. Category: Cyber Security Educator/ Researcher Award: Kurt Callewaert, Valorisation Manager Digital Transformation at Howest University of Applied Sciences, recognized for his monumental influence on the Flemish youth’s interest in cybersecurity education 
   
   Kurt’s establishment of a robust organization at Howest, solidifying its position within the field, was lauded by the jury. His extensive efforts towards transforming the education system were commendable, notably in attracting young minds to the cybersecurity domain. His pivotal role in putting Howest on the map resonated strongly, evident in other educational institutions emulating his successful approach, ultimately contributing to a positive shift in the landscape of cybersecurity education across high schools and universities. 
   
   
4. Category: Young Cyber Security Professional Award: Inti De Ceukelaire, Chief Hacker Officer at Intigriti, celebrated for his exemplary role model in the industry and his outstanding achievements 
   
   Inti’s substantial impact on the Flemish security landscape reverberated strongly among jurors, acknowledging his tireless efforts to redefine ethical hacking, transforming its perception from a potentially criminal act to a legitimate pursuit. His remarkable ability to unite and network individuals stood out, positioning him as an exemplary role model in the industry. Inti’s extensive and impressive CV spoke volumes about his expertise. Dynamic, sharp, and remarkably original, his perspective on security, emphasizing the attacker’s angle, showcased a distinctive approach rarely witnessed in the field.

The Gala dinner, a highly anticipated event, unfolded at the Africa Palace in Tervuren, where cybersecurity professionals converged for the awards presentation in the presence of Justice Minister Paul Van Tigchelt. 

During the ceremony Minister Van Tigchelt extended heartfelt congratulations to all the finalists, acknowledging their exceptional candidacies and unwavering efforts. He bestowed the prestigious Cyber Security Personality trophy upon Miguel De Bruycker, commending him for this remarkable achievement, and extended best wishes to both Miguel and the CCB team for their future endeavours.

De gelauwerde winnaars van de Belgische Cybersecurity Prijzen 2023 zijn nu bekend 

Brussel, 6 december 2023 – De Belgische Cybersecurity Prijzen 2023, een topevenement voor uitmuntendheid en innovatie op het gebied van cyberbeveiliging, onthult met trots de bekroonde winnaars van dit jaar. Met hun uitzonderlijke toewijding, baanbrekende aanpak en niet aflatende inzet om digitale landschappen te versterken, hebben deze winnaars een nieuwe standaard gezet voor cyberweerbaarheid en innovatie in België. 

De jury, bestaande uit experten uit de sector en visionaire leiders, heeft de genomineerden in verschillende categorieën streng beoordeeld en zich verdiept in hun baanbrekende strategieën, innovatieve technologieën en impactvolle bijdragen aan het steeds veranderende cyberdefensielandschap. 

De winnaars van de Belgische Cybersecurity Prijzen 2023 zijn: 

1. Categorie: Prijs voor de Cybersecurity Persoonlijkheid: Miguel De Bruycker, algemeen directeur van het Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium, erkend voor zijn trouwe toewijding en decennialange inzet om het bewustzijn rond cyberbeveiliging in België te verhogen. 
   
   Miguels voorbeeldig leiderschap, gekoppeld aan een uitzonderlijke organisatorische bekwaamheid, is duidelijk zichtbaar in zijn substantiële prestaties als speerpunt van het Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium. Zijn diepgaande impact op zowel de Belgische economie als de samenleving, door hen te beschermen tegen cyberbeveiligingsbedreigingen, is niets minder dan opmerkelijk. De stijging van België naar de toppositie op de EU Cybersecurity index is een bewijs van de niet aflatende inspanningen van Miguel en het Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium, en onderstreept hun cruciale rol in het versterken van het nationale cyberbeveiligingslandschap. 
   
   
2. Categorie: Prijs voor de Chief Information Security Officer (CISO): Siska Hallemeesch, Information Security Consultant actief als CISO as a Service – NVISO België, erkend voor haar opmerkelijk traject en diepgaande prestaties. 
   
   Siska’s veerkracht bij het overstappen naar een andere carrière na een uitdagende ervaring is een ongelooflijke prestatie die blijk geeft van doorzettingsvermogen en vastberadenheid. Als invloedrijk rolmodel verbrijzelt ze stereotypen en benadrukt ze de essentiële bijdragen die werknemers met een lange staat van dienst aan de economie leveren. Haar doordachte overstap naar de rol van CISO getuigt van een strategische vooruitziende blik en aanpassingsvermogen. Opererend in het veeleisende landschap van CISO as a Service, navigeert ze door complexiteiten die veel verder gaan dan een traditionele CISO-rol binnen een bedrijf. Haar verkiezing tot beste kandidaat onderstreept haar uitzonderlijke vaardigheden, die haar doen uitblinken op het gebied van leiderschap in cyberbeveiliging. 
   
   
3. Categorie: Prijs voor de Cybersecurity Docent/Onderzoeker: Kurt Callewaert, Valorisatiemanager Digitale Transformatie bij Howest Hogeschool, erkend voor zijn monumentale invloed op de interesse van de Vlaamse jeugd in cybersecurityonderwijs 
   
   Kurt werd alom geprezen voor de oprichting van een robuuste organisatie bij Howest waardoor hij de positie van de Hogeschool binnen dit domein versterkte. Zijn uitgebreide inspanningen om het onderwijssysteem te transformeren zijn lovenswaardig, met name in het aantrekken van jong talent naar het cyberbeveiligingsdomein. Zijn centrale rol in het op de kaart zetten van Howest maakte indruk op de jury: deze rol was duidelijk zichtbaar in andere onderwijsinstellingen die zijn succesvolle aanpak navolgden, wat uiteindelijk bijdroeg aan een positieve verschuiving in het landschap van cyberbeveiligingsonderwijs op middelbare scholen en universiteiten. 
   
   
4. Categorie: Prijs voor de Jonge Cybersecurity Professional: Inti De Ceukelaire, Chief Hacker Officer bij Intigriti, geroemd om zijn voorbeeldfunctie in de sector en zijn uitmuntende prestaties 
   
   Inti’s substantiële impact op het Vlaamse beveiligingslandschap weerklonk sterk bij de juryleden, die zijn onvermoeibare inspanningen erkenden om ethisch hacken opnieuw te definiëren en de perceptie ervan te transformeren van een potentieel criminele daad naar een legitiem streven. Zijn opmerkelijk vermogen om individuen te verenigen en te netwerken viel op en positioneert hem als een voorbeeldig rolmodel in de sector. Inti’s uitgebreide en indrukwekkende CV spreekt boekdelen over zijn expertise. Dynamisch, scherp en opmerkelijk origineel, zijn kijk op beveiliging, met de nadruk op de invalshoek van de aanvaller, toont een onderscheidende aanpak die zelden wordt gezien in het veld.

Het galadiner, een langverwachte gebeurtenis, vond plaats in het Afrikapaleis in Tervuren, waar cyberbeveiligingsprofessionals samenkwamen voor de prijsuitreiking in de aanwezigheid van minister van Justitie Paul Van Tigchelt. 

Tijdens de ceremonie feliciteerde minister Van Tigchelt alle finalisten van harte met hun uitzonderlijke kandidatuur en niet aflatende inspanningen. Hij overhandigde de prestigieuze Cyber Security Personality trofee aan Miguel De Bruycker, loofde hem voor deze opmerkelijke prestatie en wenste zowel Miguel als het CCB-team het allerbeste voor hun toekomstige projecten. 

De Belgische Cybersecurity Prijzen zal ook in de toekomst een platform blijven dat uitmuntende prestaties eert en de Belgische cybersecuritygemeenschap inspireert om de grenzen van innovatie en veerkracht te verleggen.

Bruxelles, le 6 décembre 2023 – Les Belgium ‘s Cyber Security Awards 2023, un événement phare qui récompense l’excellence et l’innovation dans le domaine de la cybersécurité, annoncent avec fierté les lauréats de cette année. Ayant fait preuve d’un dévouement exceptionnel, d’approches pionnières et d’un engagement inébranlable à renforcer l’environnement numérique, ces lauréats ont défini une nouvelle norme en matière de cyber-résilience et d’innovation en Belgique.

2. Catégorie : Prix du Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) : Siska Hallemeesch, consultante en sécurité de l’information active en tant que CISO as a Service – NVISO Belgique, reconnue pour son parcours et ses réalisations remarquables. 
   
   La résilience de Siska, qui a réussi à changer de carrière après une expérience difficile, est un exploit incroyable, qui témoigne de sa persévérance et de sa détermination. Catégorie : Prix de l’éducateur/chercheur en cybersécurité : Kurt Callewaert, Valorisation Manager Digital Transformation à la Howest University of Applied Sciences, reconnu pour son influence monumentale dans le développement de l’intérêt de la jeunesse flamande pour l’éducation en cybersécurité. 
   
   La mise en place par Kurt d’une organisation solide à Howest, consolidant sa position dans le domaine, a été saluée par le jury. Les efforts considérables qu’il a déployés pour transformer le système éducatif ont été louables, notamment en attirant de nombreux jeunes vers la cybersécurité. Le rôle essentiel qu’il a joué pour imposer Howest sur la carte de l’éducation a eu un impact très fort, ce qui a incité d’autres établissements à imiter son approche pragmatique, contribuant à faire évoluer positivement l’enseignement de la cybersécurité dans les lycées et les universités. 
   
   
4. Catégorie : Prix du jeune professionnel de la cybersécurité : Inti De Ceukelaire, Chief Hacker Officer chez Intigriti, salué pour son rôle exemplaire dans le secteur et ses réalisations exceptionnelles 
   
   L’impact substantiel d’Inti sur le paysage flamand de la sécurité a eu une forte influence auprès du jury, ses efforts inlassables pour redéfinir le piratage éthique et transformer sa perception d’un acte potentiellement criminel en une entreprise légitime ont été reconnus. Sa remarquable capacité à rassembler et à mettre en réseau des individus l’a positionné comme un modèle exemplaire dans l’industrie. Le CV complet et impressionnant d’Inti en dit long sur son expertise. Dynamique, vif et remarquablement original, son point de vue sur la sécurité, mettant l’accent sur l’angle de l’attaquant, témoigne d’une approche distinctive rarement vue dans le domaine.

Il a remis le prestigieux trophée de la personnalité de la cybersécurité à Miguel De Bruycker, le félicitant pour cette réussite remarquable, et a adressé ses meilleurs voeux à Miguel et à l’équipe du CCB pour leurs projets futurs.
