Securing AI: Leveraging Privacy-Enhancing Technologies for Safe Adoption

17h30
18h30

AI is revolutionizing businesses—but at what cost? With privacy risks, security threats, and regulatory pressures mounting, how can organizations adopt AI safely and responsibly?

Join us on the 17th of April to go beyond compliance and explore Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs)—the secret weapon in AI security. You’ll discover how PETs like Confidential Computing, Homomorphic Encryption, and Federated Learning can mitigate AI risks, enhance compliance, and secure sensitive data. Get a first look at the PET4AI Framework, a practical decision-making model designed for information security professionals to assess, compare, and implement PETs. Join this session and learn how to more securely adopt AI into your organization.

Agenda:

  1. Introduction: The Urgency of AI Security:
Why traditional security isn’t enough—exploring AI’s evolving threat landscape and the need for a privacy-first approach.
  2. AI Security & Governance Challenges:
Breaking down AI lifecycle risks, adversarial threats, and why compliance alone won’t protect organizations from AI-related attacks.
  3. What Are Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs)?
An introduction to PETs—how they mitigate AI security risks, enhance compliance, and enable safe AI adoption.
  4. The PET4AI Framework: Making PETs Actionable:
A practical approach for selecting, comparing, and implementing PETs using a structured decision-making model.
  5. Call to Action: What ISACA Professionals Can Do:
How security, risk, and compliance professionals can lead AI security initiatives and integrate PETs into governance frameworks.
  6. Q&A & Discussion:
Engaging the audience with insights, challenges, and next steps for securing AI adoption in their organizations.

As an active MCT, he gives 10-20 certified trainings annually on cloud / AI / security. He has trained over 100 professionals, including enterprise architects, project managers, service managers, salespeople, team leaders, and engineers. Additionally, he is a technical reviewer for books on cloud / AI / security by Packt Publishing, and he hosts the BlueDragon Podcast, which focuses on cloud / AI / security topics for European decision-makers.

Jetro has a professional bachelor’s degree (2006) in Applied Computer Science and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree (2023-2025) in IT Risk and Cybersecurity Management at the Antwerp Management School. His master’s thesis is derisking AI adoption by improving AI security using Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs).
