Experience a cyber crisis before you have to manage a real one
Cybersecurity incidents are rarely caused by one bad technical decision.
They escalate when leadership, risk, audit, IT, security, and communication teams fail to coordinate under pressure.
CyberWar: Are You Ready? is an immersive, role-based cybersecurity simulation that places participants inside a fictional organisation facing a developing cyber incident.
This is not a traditional classroom session.
You will have to analyse incomplete information, make decisions under time pressure, coordinate with other functions, and experience the consequences of both good and poor choices.
What will you experience?
During the simulation, participants take on key organisational roles such as:
- CEO and executive management
- CIO
- CISO
- Risk management
- Internal audit
- Marketing and communication
Each role receives specific responsibilities and information that may not be available to the other teams.
To protect the organisation, participants must communicate, prioritise, and select the right actions at the right moment.
But every decision has consequences.
Correct actions strengthen the organisation’s cyber resilience. Incorrect, duplicated, or missed actions may reduce the team’s score and increase the impact of the incident.
Three phases. Limited time. One organisation at risk.
The simulation unfolds across three increasingly challenging phases.
During each phase, participants must:
✅ Assess new information about the incident
✅ Determine which actions fall under their responsibility
✅ Coordinate with other business and technology leaders
✅ Make decisions before the countdown reaches zero
✅ Defend their choices and learn from the consequences
At the end of each phase, the facilitators explain the correct actions, common mistakes, and potential business impact.
What will you learn?
By participating, you will better understand:
✅ How responsibilities are divided during a cyber incident
✅ Why cybersecurity cannot be managed by the CISO alone
✅ How poor communication can increase operational and reputational damage
✅ How management, risk, audit, IT, and security decisions interact
✅ Why acting too late—or acting without coordination—can make an incident worse
✅ How effective governance improves cyber resilience
Who should attend?
This simulation is designed for both IT and non-IT professionals involved in protecting or managing an organisation, including:
- Executives and senior managers
- CISOs and security professionals
- CIOs and IT managers
- Risk managers
- Internal auditors
- Business continuity and crisis managers
- Communication and reputation professionals
- Project and programme managers
No advanced technical knowledge is required.
The simulation focuses on decision-making, coordination, governance, and organisational resilience.
